This project established a student narrative of institutional change at Davidson campus using sources including articles from the Davidsonian, meeting minutes and documents from student organizations, and oral histories with student activists. The aim of the project was to make the college’s history public and accessible, especially to current and future student activists on campus who can now look to a cohesive narrative of change in institutional policy and campus culture. The students involved in the project developed a prototype of an interactive digital timeline that they presented at the Undergraduate Network for Research in the Digital Humanities in February 2019. Since then, they worked to build out their timeline over summer 2019 through oral histories and archival work with recent student activists. The timeline is currently available online.
